What “unvented” actually means

A traditional vented cylinder uses a cold water tank in the loft and a vent pipe open to the atmosphere. An unvented cylinder is fed directly from the mains and is completely sealed, with no loft tank and no open vent pipe.

Because it is sealed, the system holds water at higher pressure and temperature. Safety controls manage this pressure and heat, so you get powerful showers without the risks that uncontrolled pressure could bring.

Inconsistent hot water or drops in pressure
